The Building Code Blog

The Building Code Blog was founded in 2019 and is a resource for architects, engineers and contractors to find answers to common building code questions.

Chris Campbell

I'm a code consultant and fire protection engineer based in the DC Metro area. Since graduating from the University of Maryland (BS and MS in Fire Protection Engineering), I have been a part of the building industry through the design of sprinkler and fire alarm systems and through helping architects and owners achieve building code compliance.

After answering some of the same building code questions from multiple architects (way too many times to count!), I decided to start writing down simple and clear summaries of these common code questions. A few months later, The Building Code Blog was born!

Whether you are an architect, engineer, or contractor, I hope this site is a valuable resource to you! If you have a code question of your own, you can submit it on the code questions page.

The Building Code Blog is a great resource for general code information, but if you would like assistance on a specific project, please touch base with us at Campbell Code Consulting using the link below.
